Hello friends!We have created this page to help support our dear friend Janka, continue and complete the 2-year Community Dharma Leaders Program offered by the Spirit Rock Meditation Center in California. The program began in April of this year and will end in April of 2017. Our generosity will help allow Janka to meet financial commitments that include tuition, travel expenses to NY and CA, and teacher support.A Community Dharma leader is described as someone who supports Dharma "at the community level, especially emphasizing daily-life practice." This word 'Dharma' represents a set of teachings and practices that really offer us a way to be more present for our lives, to see things more clearly, to live ethically and with an intention of non-harming, and to ultimately live happier lives. Whether her student, colleague or friend, those who have had the opportunity to learn from and practice with Janka recognize her commitment to embodying and sharing the Dharma in daily-life practice. Janka has dedicated herself to cultivating the principles of living simply, ethical livelihood, humility and discipline. Though beautiful aspirations for practice, they are certainly not values that easily translate in our culture to financial benefit and gain. So do join us in supporting Janka, so that she can continue to learn and explore and ultimately share with all of us here in Chattanooga. Its a chance to thank her for the benefits we've received through her yoga teaching, bodywork, meditation and mindfulness guidance, and somatic movement instruction. We have a wonderful opportunity to practice generosity in the support of values we appreciate and aspire to, practices that we'd love to see benefit more and more people and communities in this part of the country, and in the integrity and loveliness of our friend Janka.
