My life’s hope hangs in the balance… First of all, THANK YOU for having the heart to read this. Ecstatic wins, bitter disappointments, agonising injuries. My mum once sold ten thousand charity chocolate bars to fund an airfare. From aged 11 onwards, I was never home not even to celebrate my birthday. It’s been tough, it’s been a joy – and I can’t quit now. Playing has left me with (fixable) fractures in my pubic bone - this leaves me unable to sleep for more than a few hours or to sit for longer than 15 minutes, naturally, this has impacted my game. The cost of corrective surgery is AUS$ 40,000. No one likes to admit they can’t manage or to ask strangers for money; I won’t lie to you, I’m a proud guy but I’ve exhausted all other options. (No play, no pay!) At aged 6, I started playing football for Cockburn in WA At aged 8, I moved to Sydney’s Marconi Stallions At aged 9, I went to CEFA in South America to train At aged 12, alone, I moved across the globe, winning a scholarship (and pro contract) with QPR in London Aged 18 – 24 – playing for different clubs, learning, growing professionally At 21 – Proud Captain and teammate of the Preston Lions, Melbourne Please consider crowdfunding my surgery - friends and family have chipped in, but it’s a big ask. So, IF you’re a football fan (from anywhere) please make it possible for this local lad to get off the bench and back onto his field-of-dreams. Or share this page if you can  From me to you – with grateful thanks, James X
