I am writing this on behalf of my dearest friend, Ashanti Bennett, who has recently received devastating news regarding the health of her mother. Please note: if seeing this fundraiser is the way that you are finding out this tragic news, Jacqueline’s family apologizes. However, events are moving quickly and we are doing the best that we can to get Jacque the care that she needs. Jacque has been diagnosed with Stage IV breast cancer that has permeated throughout her body. She has been given a prognosis of 3-4 months, and her current healthcare does not provide adequate coverage for palliative care. This was highly unexpected and sudden, as Jacque went into the hospital with a broken bone and then received news of cancer. These funds will assist in making Jacque’s end of life as comfortable as possible, to most importantly include a facility where she can receive the 24/7 care that she needs. This is really challenging time for Jacqueline’s family, and as a friend of the family, I am asking that you respect the privacy of the family at this time. Reaching out to offer your love is welcome, but please respect that space the family may need at this time. As a career social worker, Jacque has spent many of her years helping others.
