This summer I moved my brother, Ron, from his camp in Georgia to Portland, Oregon, so he can receive treatment for his Stage 4 rectal cancer. Oregon has much better medical coverage but we have a snag in his housing situation. Because of COVID, there is a delay in his long-term care coverage from MEDICAID. We've found him a great assisted living facility in the heart of Portland, close to OHSU and Good Sam where he will receive his treatment, but we need to fund the first month out of pocket until the Medicaid kicks in. We are hoping to raise $4655 to cover the first month and fees. Any extra we raise will go to buying Ron furniture for his room. My brother has been on quite a journey and feels confident he can beat this thing, but he can't undergo chemotherapy and radiation treatment while sleeping on my couch. We hope if you are a cancer survivor, battling it yourself, or just want to help someone win his own battle, you will think of helping get Ron into a stable living situation. Thank you so much. https://watchingthewheelsdad.net/2024/07/23/from-big-brother-to-cancer-care-giver/
