Harper Langston was diagnosed with T Cell Leukemia (ALL) and Hemophagocytic Lymphohistocytosis (HLH) at the young age of 6 in 2024. She underwent a successful bone marrow transplant with the help of her younger sister Brooklyn which thankfully placed her into remission. However, now she is suffering from serious side effects associated with Graft vs Host Disease (GVHD). In Harper's case, the GVHD has primarily attacked her skin which has caused painful and hard to treat skin wounds with secondary infections. She has failed several treatment regimens including steroids, numerous oral and IV immunotherapies, etc. Because of this, she and her family temporarily relocated to Houston this summer so she can get the extensive evaluation and treatment through Texas Children’s Hospital that she needs. Most recently she was hospitalized for a period of eight weeks due to sepsis secondary to her central line infection following a treatment known as photophoresis. Unfortunately, she has not responded to this and is now undergoing treatment with hyperbaric oxygen chamber therapy which can help with wound healing. She is slowly responding but unfortunately, her family is having to pay out of pocket to get her the care that she needs. Her medical team estimates that she will need approx 40 sessions which amounts to $9,600. We ask for your help in any way to help decrease the financial burden for this sweet and loving family. Because of the extensive medical visits that Harper needs to attend on a daily basis, Jessica has had to temporarily step away as her role as a GI PA to help care for her daughter. Thus, funds are especially tight right now and any little bit would help. Let's help heal Harper and get her back to her home in Austin !!
