Update (30/08/2024): We have just had a consultation with Dr. Tobinick from the Institute of Neurological Recovery, Florida, USA. After examining Rinat’s results and his condition, he recommended their treatment and believes that it will show great improvement with Rinat. He suggested multiple treatments, starting with 2 injections, one week apart, followed up with another in 3 months, then 6 months and potentially more afterwards. This is a one-of-a-kind clinic in the world and their treatment has no analogues elsewhere in the world. Dr. Tobinick said that he’s treated patients who have been in worse condition than Rinat and they’ve shown great improvements, with some going back to living a normal life. There truly is a large chance that this is what will get Rinat back on his feet and going on the path to normal life again. This treatment must be done in Florida and each injection alone costs approx. $11,500 CAD - Dr. Tobinick recommended 4. In addition, I still would like to show Rinat to the brain specialists that I’ve consulted with in Europe, but due to Rinat’s current condition I’ve had to push back those plans and prioritize the visit with the Institute of Neurological Recovers in FL, USA. ________________ Please help fund a medical brain rehabilitation treatment trip for Rinat. My name is Marina and for about the past 25 years, we’ve lived with my husband in the Niagara/Hamilton area. Maybe you’ve seen either of us around. I made a plea for help about 2 months ago. My husband, Rinat Safaraliyev, had a heart attack on March 17th, 2024. At that time, his heart stopped for about 15 minutes. He spent the next 8 months in hospital and a rehabilitation unit, during which time I regularly brought him homemade food, slept by his side and eventually took him home in November 2024. Now I provide constant care for him on his journey to restoration. At home, I initially funded all of Rinat’s additional medical care, but those resources soon ran out and I had to pause what I was doing. Two months ago, Rinat was starting to near a critical phase where his abilities were visibly deteriorating almost daily. That was when I first requested help from our community. Thanks to all the heartfelt support from everyone who responded to my plea for help, Rinat has shown good improvement! His strength and energy have started to come back, and his hunger for life has returned. I’ve continued doing all possible therapies here with various specialists thanks to the help of our great community. These include; sessions with osteopaths, physiotherapists, massage therapists, chiropractic, neurologists, additional consultations with Rinat’s medical specialists and medicinal expenses. For Rinat to recover fully, he needs to go directly to specialists that deal with restoring brain functions. This is how he can regain his memory, cognition, and motor functions back to normal levels. I have already consulted with these specialists over the phone, but of course, they need to see him in person for any meaningful improvements to happen. I have already started implementing their initial recommendations. I would like to take Rinat to a brain restoration clinic in the USA, as well as several experienced neurologists, neurosurgeons and brain care specialists located in Europe. This way, Rinat can undergo tests and diagnostics as soon as he arrives, and immediately begin treatment. As for a breakdown of what funding we need: The brain recovery clinic in the United States is said to be the only one of its kind in the world. Here they have consistent success in restoring thousands of people’s brain function from all around the world after strokes and other serious brain injuries. Many people have been able to just resume a normal, healthy life after their procedures. A single treatment procedure there costs $8-10,000 USD, and in some cases, multiple procedures are required. An early budget for Rinat’s treatment with 2 procedures in the United States, including travel and accommodation, will cost approximately $30,000 Canadian. As for Europe; one doctor recommended a course of treatments that starts from a minimum of 10 weeks. Of course, once he diagnoses Rinat in person, it will be far easier to determine what exactly is needed. I am in contact with additional neurologists and they too need to see Rinat in person to assign therapies. Unfortunately, in Canada, such specialists simply don’t exist, and even a simple appointment with a neurologist or an MRI of the brain requires many months of waiting. My minimal budget for visa expenses in Europe, travel expenses, treatment, and accommodation in Europe comes out to be around $30,000 CAN. Both of these medical trips, in America and Europe, result in a combined total of around $60,000 CAN. These funds will help save two lives - Rinat’s and my own, as I simply don’t know how much more I can withstand with my own strength. For the past 1.5 years, I’ve devoted almost 24 hours every day to helping Rinat, who still needs assistance with every aspect of daily life. From the moment of Rinat’s heart attack, I’ve sacrificed my own life to help him. His brain, consciousness, and abilities can be restored, but I do not see it as possible staying here in Canada. I know that there are always new opportunities and alternatives, and I’ve now set concrete goals on how to restore Rinat’s life, and mine as a result. I am doing all I can for Rinat to live, and for him to continue helping others with his engineering projects which he loved doing. He truly is a wonderful, hardworking person. I believe in him, that he has a second chance at life. I am asking for help from everyone who is able to help, to help me take this big step toward Rinat’s recovery and fund these medical trips. I am truly thankful for every soul that has read my story and has helped our family. If possible, please share our story with your friends or people who you think may join our cause and help Rinat get the treatment he needs.
