In April 2024, during the pandemic's beginning, Claire went to the emergency room after fighting what she thought might be mono. Online doctor's calls and various medications did little, so she finally decided to visit IU North Emergency Room. With an extremely high white blood cell count, we remember getting a call from Mom and Dad in Qatar saying they think Claire has cancer. She was transferred to the Simon Cancer Center in downtown Indianapolis, and this started a long and ongoing battle against Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL). Claire underwent a month-long hospitalization period during which she underwent extensive chemotherapy treatment. She engaged in daily Skype sessions with our parents to ensure continuous communication with her doctors. Mom and Dad could provide for Claire's expenses in Qatar during this time. Until December 2024, outpatient chemotherapy treatments were administered to Claire, with the frequency varying. She also had a brief hospital stay for an infection. However, in April 2024, Claire received the news that her Leukemia had relapsed, prompting her to return to the hospital for further chemotherapy, radiation, and a T-cell transplant. Fortunately, Max was a suitable donor with a 100 percent match. On July 20th, he generously donated his blood marrow/T-cells to Claire, who underwent the infusion on the same day. Claire has continued working remotely from home and the hospital throughout this process. Nevertheless, she is confronted with substantial medical expenses, numerous hospital visits, and ongoing treatment costs, with no discernible end in sight. Many of you have been part of Claire's grueling journey in faithful prayer since the beginning. Your prayers and encouragement mean more to us than words can express. If you are new to Claire's story, we ask you to join us in constant prayer. If you feel led, please feel free to donate as able. Every contribution will aid in clearing medical bills and other related expenses and reduce the stress on Claire's and the family's limited resources enabling her to focus on fighting for her survival. Our family continues to covet your ongoing prayers for healing and words of encouragement. From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you for your support.
