My name is Pam Kline and I am asking you to join me in support of my dear friend of 30+ years. Tobie Buchanan has raised her granddaughters Lilly (10) and Zoe (8) as a single parent since they were 3 ½ and 18 months respectively. Tobie gives all she has and all she can to her two girls and right now that is being put to the ultimate test and they really can use a hand up. On June 16th Zoe (8) was diagnosed with Stage 3 Kidney Cancer, with a large tumor known as a Wilms Tumor on her left kidney. Zoe has undergone one surgery already to insert a port into her chest and to perform a biopsy on the tumor. Zoe is presently going through a 6 week round of chemotherapy for the purpose of shrinking the tumor. Doctors are hopeful one round will do the trick, but it is possible another round of Chemotherapy will be needed. Once the tumor has shrunk to an operable size surgeons will go in to remove the entire tumor and the impacted kidney. Following surgery Zoe will receive radiation therapy. The hope is that after surgery and radiation a full recovery will be on the horizon and this energetic 7-year-old can get back to being a healthy vibrant kid! There is a long road ahead. Make no mistake this is a marathon not a sprint. First and foremost, I want Zoe to be Cancer free! I want emotional healing for Zoe, Tobie, and Lilly. I want this family to once again be healthy and happy. I also want them to heal financially and that too is going to take some time. Tobie is balancing being caregiver to Zoe both in and out of the hospital and single parent to Lilly all while trying to take care of herself, so she can be there for both girls as she always has been. Tobie has exhausted her paid leave but remains out of work for at least another couple of months and struggles to keep monthly bills current while the weight of potential medical bills hangs heavy. I will keep Zoe, Tobie and Lilly in my thoughts and prayers for health and happiness once again, and I will also donate to help them back on their feet. Will you join me? Please say YES!
