I'm doing this on behalf of my husband, Curtis O'Neal. We have been married for 23 years and have four beautiful children, five grandchildren, and the best son and daughter-in-law in the world. We have been so blessed with family and friends that are truly god sent. Most of you know Curt, but for those who may not, please let me tell about my hubby. He is a man's man, a provider, a protector, so loveable. He can be hard to deal with at times (lol), but that comes with loving him. To our boys he is their hero. To our daughter he is "daddy". Curt has always been a hard working man. There is nothing that would stand in his way when it came to being there, providing, loving his family. A friend would call any time night or day and he would be on the way. Being together this long we have seen so many normal changes in each other. Of course those all come with time. However I noticed some changes. And made a doctor appointment for Curt. After being diagnosed with hepatitis c and treated with medication for that, he was given the all clear. We hugged with happiness. Unfortunately it was a short celebration. When the doctor office called us back in he discussed with us how he was very concerned with Curt's liver and is referring him to Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta, Ga for a liver transplant. That was a shocker. However we went to and met with the doctors there which are amazing. Curt was pleased and that is not easy with anything pertaining to the medical field. The initial appointment of course was just that. The doctor seemed very hopefull and said this would be good. We were then given another appointment for Curt to come back for three days of testing to see exactly what his liver health is. The hospital staff was amazing and couldn't ask for him to be treated any better. We came home, prayed and waiting for the results to come back. Unfortunalty we didn't get the news we were hoping for. Instead of moving forward with the treatment plan of a liver transplant, the plan shifted to treatment plan of liver cancer. Deep breath, tears, prayers with hearing that. The latest news from the Dr is this is stage 4 liver cancer. I never imagined saying those words in regards to my hubby. However this is the card that has been dealt. His team of doctors here closer to home now are working on chemo plans. My husband is the type of man that woud not ask for help. That's why I'm trying this. We just need some help right now. If there is anything you could give it will be greatly appreciated. The most important thing we can do for each other in life is to pray for one another. Thank you for allowing me this time to share just a little of our life with you. God Bless
