Hello ~ As some may know, my husband Jorge has been sick and unable to work for almost 2.5 years. In the Spring of 2024, we elected to get immunized for Covid 19 (this is not an antivaxx stance). What we didn’t know was that Jorge had a dormant/underlying autoimmune disease and the vaccine probably triggered it. One morning he woke up and could not walk and was in excruciating pain. Because of insurance hurdles, he was only sent to PT after seeing bulging discs on X-ray. Everything got worse. A few months later, because of the stress, pain (he’s allergic to all pain meds/anaphylaxis) and the autoimmune disease (unknown at the time), he suffered a heart attack on Thanksgiving 2024 and had 2 stents put in. In February of 2024, he had another stent put in. He was then put on blood thinners for a year and was told he couldn’t get spinal injections until he was off thinners. His ability to walk decreased significantly due to his no treatment. PT made it worse. He can only walk a few steps unassisted, can’t sit, can’t lay down for more than a few minutes. We then were told that maybe we should see a rheumatologist and found out about the psoriatic arthritis (the autoimmune disease) which has effected his circulatory system, bones and tendons. During that time, his pain worsened, he developed neuropathy, enthesitis and his muscles have atrophied from what they said is wasting disease because of immobility. He now weighs 165lbs. He is able to get spinal injections and ablations now (another insurance hurdle that’s not really working) but has been told that no surgery will help him, that his spinal narrowing is insignificant, they don’t know why he’s in such bad condition and he is now set to be tested for nerve disorders. We have sold his business and the equipment, furniture, exhausted all of our savings, supplemental insurance and maxed out all the credit cards. He is not eligible for Social Security disability and I make too much (lol) for any government assistance. I finally started a 2nd job but in this lovely economy, it’s still not enough. I am reaching out and creating this LFEBridge in hopes to get help with paying for physical therapy/pain management costs, household bills and existing medical bills until I figure out the next part of this problem. Thank you for any help received. ❤️
