Hello, Many of you may or may not know the battle my dad, John, has fought over the last 6 years against Cancer! He was first diagnosed with stage 4 Bowel Cancer back in 2017, and after a miracle op and lots of Chemo he was given the all clear and lived to fight another day. However 3 years ago, after another late diagnosis, we were told he now has severe liver Cancer, and this time it wouldn’t be so easy to fight. After a failed op, and endless chemo, which currently takes place every 2 weeks, we have reached a point where the NHS can no longer provide the answer we are looking for. But there is still a glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel. The treatment John now requires is Selective internal radiation therapy (SIRTS), which comes at a cost of £40,000. This treatment will finally give John (and my mum) a well deserved rest from the intensive chemo and all the side effects that go along with it, and will hopefully allow him to enjoy life again! If anyone knows my dad, they know me doing this for him is his absolute worst nightmare! I think they call it stubborn pride. But the truth is, he desperately needs and deserves this treatment, so here I am doing this for him anyway! From myself, my brothers, my mum, (and my dad when we finally tell him), we wholeheartedly appreciate any donations you are able to give. I can’t put into words how much it will mean to us to get John better and back to his fun, loving self. If you would like to hear more about this treatment please do feel free to contact me. Thank you Joanne xxx
