On July 11th our beloved father and brother George Shull Jr aka GK became the victim of domestic violence. My mother, his wife of 40 years, shot my Dad in the face during an argument. My mother has struggled with mental health issues and my Dad has stood by her, supported her and loved her in spite of her challenging behavior. However, we never imagined anything like this could happen. We are absolutely devastated. Miraculously our Dad survived and we are extremely grateful for that. However, he has a long road ahead. It’s hard seeing the strongest man you’ve ever known your whole life so helpless laying there. Suddenly you’re the one in complete control of making sure he’s okay. When they said they couldn’t stop the bleeding my whole world crumbled, I couldn’t breathe. I immediately thought of his granddaughters who adore him and his grandson who he is so excited to meet August 7. I wasn’t sure he was going to make it from one minute to the next. There was a lot of times I fell to my knees screaming why and just searching for an answer as to why everything was happening and why to such an innocent man. My Dad has been the primary breadwinner. He has always worked tirelessly to provide for his family. My Dad is the most selfless person you could ever know. He’s a loving family man and the kind of person who would do anything for you. He’s not going to be able to go back to work for a long time which means there is no income coming in. We are starting this LFEBridge campaign to ask for help to cover expenses and multiple bills. If you are led to give in order to help, we would be incredibly grateful. Every little bit will help. Please continue to pray for our Dad’s recovery. We will try to update everyone as often as we can.
