Elliot needs your help. Elliot is having major adaptation’s made to his home in order to help him have a better quality of life. Thankfully the works for Elliot are covered under the grant scheme but this won’t cover the cost of the family having to relocate somewhere whilst the extensive works are carried out. Elliot’s needs are very complex and he will need to be out of the house for approximately 4 weeks. We are looking to raise £4k (we have raised £2000 already) to help with the cost of this. Elliot’s mum and dad Marnie and Paul have already tried to fundraise to support this side of the costs and we want to help them, they deserve it and so does Elliot. Meet Elliot-Elliot has 2 rare chromosomal abnormalities affecting his 8 and 18th chromosome. They have called his condition 8:18 unbalanced translocation. Elliots condition has given him the following: Bilateral cleft lip and palate (3 surgeries so far) Chronic lung disease Obliterative bronchitis with 24/7 oxygen requirement. Nystagmus and blepharitis Bilateral moderate hearing loss Severe delayed gastric emptying (24/7 drainage in place) He is tube fed into his intestines for up to 20 hours a day 1 kidney with hydronephrosis Undescended testicles (awaiting surgery) Severe bilateral talipies Non mobile (full time wheelchair user) Non verbal Life limited status. He has fought tooth and nail through life so far, over coming huge health issues and defying the odds He was given at birth. Elliot has been very sheltered since the beginning of Covid, very rarely going out, and him being able to have a bath and enjoy his love of water would make a huge difference to his quality of life. We want him to have the best out of life for as long as he is with us.
