Hi all, I'm Tammy, Danilo's girlfriend. I wanted to take the time to share Danilo's story, the struggles he's faced, and the struggles to come. Some of you may know, some don't and have a lot of questions. The last nine months have been incredibly hard on us, I'm creating this fundraiser to help him pay for the out of pocket medical expenses, bills and just life in general. He's been unable to work since October, when it all began, and receives very limited financial aid at this time. In October I took him into the emergency room for shortness of breath. That day we learned he had gone into kidney failure, and has kidney disease. They immediately started dialysis. He now goes three days a week for 4 hours each day, this will continue until he gets a kidney transplant. During that hospital stay they also did a surgery on his foot which left him unable to walk for about 4 months. He was doing good, the foot was healing and we were going to UCD for all the kidney appointments, evaluations etc. About 6 weeks ago he injured his other foot, it quickly became infected and he was hospitalized again. The doctors at Mercy worked hard to save it but it just didn't work out, and on Friday July 21st they amputated his leg below the knee. He is now bound to a wheelchair until his leg is healed enough to be fitted for a prosthetic. Let me tell you, this dude is the strongest person I know and has kept his spirits up this whole time. I'm so incredibly proud of him for being so strong. He doesn't ask anybody for anything, so I'm asking for him. Please help Nilo with his medical expenses, meals, and transportation.
