As many of you know, the last two weeks have been a whirlwind of conflicting emotions for Emily and Michael! For those who don’t know their story… here is a little bit of detail: Emily and Michael have felt called to adopt since the beginning of their marriage. They’ve been patiently waiting to grow their family through adoption for over four years! Three months ago, they started fostering and brought a brand new baby girl home from the hospital. As you can imagine they fell head over heels in love with her! While they understood foster care is all about reunification, in this specific situation that was not an option and they believed it would move toward adoption. This child was abruptly taken from them two weeks ago with only three hours of notice. This was not so she could be returned to her family, but to go to another foster home with no blood relation. Emily and Michael were devastated, heartbroken and so confused. While attempting to process the loss of their sweet baby, they received a phone call from friends out of state the next morning. “Yesterday we got a phone call that a baby girl was born at the exact time our girl was taken from us. Down to the minutes. The friends almost didn’t call us because they thought we already had a baby, but something kept telling them to call... It’s so scary to get right back into the unknown, to bond, to love and to give our hearts. But through the pain and confusion, we know Jesus is working. We know His plans are better than our own. God is good, and He wants good for us. He wants good for our children. We are lifting our hands to praise Him.” - from Emily After driving to a different state and meeting this sweet new baby, God worked another miracle! They got the call that their first baby from foster care was coming back home! They now have TWO sweet baby girls in their arms. The adoption isn’t finalized yet - but we are believing with them! This page is to help support Emily and Michael with the unexpected expenses they are dealing with right now. While they have an adoption fund, that is already being used for lawyer fees in two states and now prayerfully for two adoption proceedings. This money will help with current expenses such as: food and lodging while Emily remains out of state due to ICPC, missed hours of work, baby items, formula, new car seat, etc. as well as any additional law fees for the out-of-state lawyer.
