Our good friend Doug Rouse was involved in a serious motorcycle accident on July 17th, 2024. He was heading to work, as he always does, on his beloved Trophy motorcycle when he was struck by a truck driven by an individual who ran a stop sign. He has suffered a broken pelvis and he has two long screws through the back sacrum, X Fix (bar) pins were placed into each hip to help his pelvic bone stabilize while healing. He also has broken ribs and some stitches. For those of us who know Doug it does not surprise us that he has kept his humor alive and has been "bragging" that he now has his very own handlebars! Doug’s positive spirit has always been infectious to those around him. Despite facing immense physical and emotional challenges he remains incredibly optimistic. With surgery ahead to remove his X Fix, attempts at walking and rehabilitation, Doug’s road to recovery will be long and challenging. However, we believe with the support of family, friends, kindness and grace, we can help alleviate the financial burden that comes with such a journey. Our goal is to raise funds that will cover expenses for food, Jen’s travels back and forth to the Care Partners Rehab and household expenses. Let’s join forces to help during this long journey. Stay Healthy and Stay Strong. With loving care for Doug - His Friends - and whom he calls family
