Hi my name is Necole Javernick-Hodges and I am fundraising for my prior nurse Donna Bottger, RN. Donna has been a nurse for over 40 years, 27 of those years within the St. Lukes system. I was extremely lucky to have her as my nurse from 2002 until her retirement in 2016 at age 65. About 13 years ago she began having lung problems and eventually diagnosed with hypersensitivity pneumonitis. It was a long process getting the diagnosis. Unfortunately this cased some major scaring of her lungs and she now had advanced pulmonary fibrosis requiring oxygen at night and often during the day if she is up and about. She must use it all the time when they visit their cabin due to elevation. There is no cure for pulmonary fibrosis but there is an experimental drug now that is supposed to help slow the progression. It is $8000 per month. She is hoping insurance will cover some of it but we are certain it won’t cover much of the cost. Donna is so smart, witty, kind and just an awesome person! I just want to help her live as long as she can and as comfortable as she can! She deserves it! Any donations are much appreciated! ❤️
