The Cooper twins have had a rough start to life. At 3 weeks old Oliver was brought to Helen Devos Children's Hospital due to not eating. He was immediately hooked up to oxygen as he stopped breathing on his own for short periods of time. He was transferred to the PICU Floor for care. There they put him on an NIPPV. Forrest was brought in the next day with the same thing and was brought to the General Pediatrics Floor but was transferred to the PICU a day later as his condition was worsening. He was soon hooked up to NIPPV as well. Both babies had Acute Respiratory Failure and Bronchiolitis caused by Rhino Enterovirus. Oliver spent 7 days in the hospital and Forrest spent 15 days in the hospital. Less than 2 weeks later, Forrest started showing the same symptoms again. 911 was called and he was sent back to Helen Devos via ambulance. He has currently been there a week in the PICU. Financially, we are in a tough spot. Between Big Brother Hunter's surgery earlier this year, the birth for Mom, and now this for the twins, our family has been though a lot medically that we would have trouble affording on our regular 2 person income. That has felt more impossible as mom hasn't had a regular paycheck in 2 months, with maternity leave only paying 60% wages and now no income as she stays at Forrest's bedside. Our savings account is dwindling and we our running out of options. Any donations are greatly appreciated and will go towards medical bills, household bills, and groceries. If you cannot give financially, we also have a meal train sign up at https://www.mealtrain.com/trains/7eok19 Please keep our family in your thoughts and prayers.
