Hi, my name is Vinayak and I'm posting this fundraiser on behalf of my cousins Devika and Srini. It is almost a rebirth for a woman when she becomes a mother. And there is nothing more that a husband wishes for but a healthy mother and a healthy child. Devika and Srini were overjoyed to welcome their second child, Yugan to the world on 06/15/2024. But destiny had other plans, their joy was only short-lived. Now, Yugan’s 3-year-old sister is at the crossroads of enjoying a new family member and a mother who has not returned home for days. Only three weeks after the birth of her son, Devika from Frisco TX was rushed to the Baylor Scott Emergency Room with a case of mastitis and Group A streptococcus infection. Devika’s condition escalated as her blood pressure dropped drastically, placing pressure on her heart, raising it to 175 BPM. She suffered a massive cardiac arrest stopping her heart as her helpless husband Srini watched on. With God’s will, her motherly strength and the relentless efforts of doctors, Devika was miraculously resuscitated after 6 whole minutes of CPR. Their uphill battle unfortunately just started when Devika went into a coma due to multiple organ stress. Post-trauma, Devika’s kidney, liver, lungs and brain are at reduced function triggered by a chain reaction leading to sepsis. This young mother has been fighting for her life for the past two weeks against Acute Tubular Necrosis with a drastic accumulation of toxins from the infection and low platelet counts. She is on dialysis and a ventilator to help her body fight sepsis. While the doctors have controlled the infections with surgery, Devika’s state is still critical due to heavy doses of vasopressor medications which have impacted the capillaries in the hands and legs with low blood supply. The toxins and vasopressor medications pose a grave risk of limb amputation. Instead of celebrating the arrival of the newborn, this family is battling against time to save a young mother from the ruins of sepsis. The road to recovery is long and hard, requiring nearly 12 months of hospitalization and 10 months of rehabilitation. With Devika being the primary breadwinner, Srini is now troubled with the financial burden to address the current situation and focus on caring for his two young children. The long road to recovery adds financial strain to their already weak economic situation. We appeal to all compassionate hearts to come forward and support this brave mother and father in their battle to return home to their precious children. Your generous donations will help alleviate their financial worries, help them heal and rebuild their lives. If you find yourself unable to contribute financially, please don’t give up but send your thoughts, prayers, and love to this family. Let them feel the hope from the community, reminding them that they are not alone in this battle. Devika is a fighter and she is determined to get better. But she needs our help to make it through. Please donate today and provide her a chance to see her children grow up. We need your help in bringing this family home together. Note - Please check with your employer if they offer matching benefits towards your donation.
