As many of you know,  2 weeks ago Jonathan Deas had his car stolen from our home. It was early on a Sunday morning when Jon and I discovered his car missing. (He thought I didn't pay the car note. Ha!) Jon played ACL that weekend both Friday & Saturday. He followed ACL both days with out-of-town gigs so you can imagine his exhaustion when he got home in the middle of the night Saturday night. For the first time in years, Jon felt too tired to bring in his equipment from the car.On top of losing the car, Jon lost 3 keyboards, 2 keyboard stands, high end in-ear monitors, and a brand new 32 GB iPad loaded with pictures and footage! In addition to these items, the wreck less thieves took off with quite a bit of cash Jon had been hanging on to from the weekend. Guess what, they didn't even stop there they also took off with his basketball shoes, all of his brand new ACL Swag, a brand new phone charger & cell phone mount, they even took my baby's carseat! The only thing these folks left was their trash, Jon's shoes, and a tore up picture of Giuliana! (This is also the stuff Jon would never tell you because he is simply too humble, patient, and kind. But I will tell it all!)The car has been recovered, as a matter of fact it only took about 24 hours for them to wreak havoc on the car and leave it on a back road in Buda smashed into a fence. As you can see in the picture they went to town on destroying it; breaking off the mirrors, bumpers, etc. The tires are flat and the windows are blown out. It appears that in addition to crashing it they also stomped on it, based on the foot prints on the car. There is major damage to the inside as well. For the past 2 weeks we have been working with the police, insurance companies, detectives in 2 counties, and we even hired Detective Genevieve Deas, and we still have little information. As you can imagine theft is not high on the totem pole in Austin. We have been actively watching Craigslist and Pawn Shops but we don't believe that any of Jon's stuff will actually end up there. Considering the fact that these criminals don't have any of the power cables we think that they will struggle to  sell any of the equipment. The insurance company is not willing to cover any of the equipment because they say it is a business item. We need to help Jon get new equipment so he can get back to blessing all of us with the beautiful sounds he creates on these machines. Our hope is that all who can will give a few bucks to help him recover from such a major loss. For those of you who cannot give at this time please continue to pray for Jon and keep your eyes and ears open to any information that may lead to us discovering who did this. There are no words to express our gratitude for all who have already reached out and offered prayer, encouragement, and have offered to loan Jon equipment so that he would not miss out on any gigs while he trys to get back on his feet. Thank you to our beautiful friends and family for this love!
