Over the last 13 years, Damian Marchione has overcome a near-death experience caused by kidney damage from Rhabdomyolysis which resulted in 17 trips to the ER and 3 hospital stays. He is currently experiencing sleeplessness, weight loss, extreme gastric distress, SIBO, and painful bouts of gas build-up that have caused him to have to be taken to the ER several times in recent months. I have known Damian for more than 20 years, and in that time, I have witnessed and experienced his honesty, generosity, and constant willingness to help others in need. Whether it has involved him donating his technical skills to rebuilding computers for developmentally disabled adults or using his construction skills to provide free fantasy bedroom makeovers for children battling pediatric cancer or advocating for children with juvenile diabetes and autism or creating events to inspire artists of all ages to embrace their own creativity, Damian has always placed the betterment of others at the center of his personal and professional endeavors without any expectation of reciprocity. Not surprisingly, he did all of these things while restoring his health by adopting a clean diet lifestyle and utilizing holistic approaches to rebuild his body. Damian had been successfully able to return his health to a semblance of what it had been until recently when he began experiencing bouts of physically crippling gastric pain that robbed him of his ability to sleep and ultimately his ability to work. His lack of health insurance and his current inability to work has made seeking proper medical testing to establish an accurate diagnosis and sustaining any subsequent treatment protocols a nearly impossible proposition. The goal of this fundraiser is to financially provide Damian with access to testing, diagnosing, and treatment that can serve to heal him of this unknown malady and allow him to return to his professional and philanthropic endeavors.
