Dear family (familia), friends (amigos), & strangers alike, I hope this letter finds you in good health and high spirits! I am writing to you today with a heartfelt plea for support as our beloved father, Marcelo has recently been diagnosed with prostate cancer, and we are committed to doing everything we can to ensure his well-being. *Dad holding me and my twin brother Kevin* Let me take a moment to introduce you to the incredible man we call Dad. Born and raised in Argentina, he has always been a beacon of love, strength, and laughter within our family and the larger community. He sacrificed more than most to be in this country and provide for his family. As a devoted father, brother, grandpa, business owner, and a cherished friend, he has touched the lives of countless people with his infectious humor and unwavering support. (Hence the cover photo, his smile, and his energy say it all! He also doesn't take life too seriously!) *My dad at the Grand Canyon pretending to fall off the cliff lol he's a clown* Dad has been the rock of our family, always there with a smile to brighten our darkest days. His unique ability to make everyone laugh, even in the face of adversity, has been a source of inspiration for all who know him. Now, as he faces this formidable battle against prostate cancer, it is our turn to be there for him, to provide the support and resources he needs to overcome this challenge. *He didn't want any help as he believes he must deal with his problems head-on and handle them as head of household. I convinced him otherwise, that's why I'm writing to you today for your support and to change his belief.* *This photo is with my dad, his daughter/my sister, his youngest brother, and me* While our love and emotional support are invaluable, the financial burden of medical treatments and related expenses weighs heavily on my father. That is why we have decided to reach out to our community, friends, and kind-hearted individuals like yourself to request your support through a fundraising campaign. Our goal is to raise $10,000 to ensure that Dad can access the best possible medical care and treatments to fight this disease head-on. He will be undergoing a Tusla Operation that insurance can not cover, which comes with a $30,000 price tag. The proceeds will be used to pay for his procedure *This is the most recent photo on Father's day after he broke the news to us as he completed his blood work* So, every donation, no matter the size, will make a significant impact on Dad's journey to recovery. Your generosity will not only help alleviate the financial strain but also provide hope and strength to our family during these difficult times. With your support, we can give Dad the fighting chance he deserves and empower him to continue spreading joy and laughter to everyone he encounters. *Photo of his reception at his home in California with his wife Bea : )* To make a contribution, please visit our dedicated GoFund Me page. There, you will find all the necessary information to donate securely online. If you prefer to contribute in another way, please feel free to contact me directly, and I will be more than happy to assist you. We genuinely appreciate any support you can provide, whether it is through a monetary donation, sharing our cause with your network, or keeping our family in your thoughts and prayers. Your kindness and compassion will not go unnoticed and will forever hold a special place in our hearts. *This photo is at Dad's all-time favorite restaurant in California, Norms, the first restaurant he ate at when he first came to the States. We always make it a point to eat here.* On behalf of our family, we want to express our deepest gratitude for considering our appeal. Together, we can make a difference and show Dad that he is not alone in this fight. Let us unite as a community, embodying the spirit of love and support that defines our humanity. Thank you for your time, generosity, and unwavering support. With heartfelt appreciation, Ian Duboe (His son) + our entire family. *Photo is of our family back home in Argentina.
