Hi, My name is Molly and I am fundraising on behalf of my co-worker and friend Christine. I have Christine's permission to share her story. This year has been hard on Christine. With the rising cost of housing prices, Christine was forced to sell her beloved home that her and her family have called a safe place for years. She was struggling to make ends meet and all of her pay cheques were just going to simply stay afloat. During this time Christine began to have some health concerns. She had been heavily bleeding and her body started to scare her. Through many talks and many tears Christine decided to seek a doctors help. She was hopeful that the news would be something that was easily fixed...but she was wrong. Christine was diagnosed with Colon Cancer. She was told that if she did not have radiation treatment, chemotherapy or have the tumour removed than she would have a mere 18 months to live. Her and her family and friends were devastated. We were all terrified of loosing our friend. After trying many natural alternatives, Christine decided to get help so that she could live to see many more years, and be there for her 3 children - Ryan, Gordan and Renee - as well as watch her grandchildren grow up. In the midst of recieving this news Christines elderly Daschund, Snoopy, who was more a child to her than a dog, passed away suddenly. I had held my friend and cried with her too many times to not do something. Because of the cancer and operations, Christine will have to take a significant amount of time off work which will be a huge financial blow - potentially putting her and her children into debt - a stress that one does not need when dealing with what she has. Her children work long hours and work hard to help their mother, but this family needs our help. Let me tell you a bit about Christine. I am not exaggerating when I say that Christine is the best person I know. She radiates positive energy, she is a great listener, and her heart is made to help those in need. She puts everyone before herself, going above and beyond to make sure they feel cared for and safe. She is a devoted mother, health enthusiast and works with adults with disabilities that have built life long friendships with her. She is an advocate, a survivor of abuse, a healer and a knowledge seeker. She is resilient and strong. She is literally a ray of sunshine. I am blessed to call her my friend and since she has done so much for others it's time we do something for her. Let's help Christine beat cancer, save her life and her bank account. The funds will go directly to Christine to help pay her bills, mortgage, and medical expenses while she fights cancer. Any donation helps, no matter how small. Thank you to all who have shown this family support.
