On May 11, 2024, my 36-year-old daughter Chrissy Robichaud was initially diagnosed with Stage 2 Breast Cancer. With no history of breast cancer in my family, it was shocking and devastating news. On June 19th, the photo above is of the first surgery she had to remove the cancerous lump, they also took samples of the lymph nodes which were then sent to the lab for further testing. This week the doctor told Chrissy there is also cancer in the lymph nodes and another cancerous lump that needs to be removed. She will need surgery again, a few more tests, along with 6 months of chemo and 3-5 weeks of radiation. Chrissy does not have enough hours to qualify for sick benefits or Employment Insurance. There are no longer two paychecks coming in to support Chrissy, Josh, Masen and Kiera, her 3-year-old daughter. The family is struggling to keep up and are not the types to ask for help but if we can come together and donate even the smallest amount... Everything adds up when friends and community come together. They have managed so far with help from the family however with the latest news, the doctor said this will take a year. That is why I am reaching out to you, on behalf of my daughter Chrissy, please help so this journey with cancer will be easier and less stressful. So, she can concentrate on her healing instead. We are also going to sell tickets for a YETI Cooler and other items. We are still working out the details and we will post soon. Chrissy has lost 20 pounds so far, now weighing only 103 pounds. She was strongly advised to gain weight before treatments begin. Her loss of appetite, nausea and worry has not helped. Her body would not be strong enough right now. On top of all this, Chrissy has been struggling with Crohn's for about 10 years, Chrissy is a devoted mom and her daughter Kiera has helped keep her mind off the cancer. She is a strong but reserved person and family is a big part of her life. Recently she has gotten interested in crystals and their benefits. To keep her mind occupied she has just started jewellery making. Sometimes I wonder. What's going to happen? How far has it spread? Why not me instead? Kiera is only 3 years old. My mind races and plays out all the scenarios. Then I take a deep breath...and calm down so I can be there for my daughter. A big thank you to family and friends who have already reached out to help! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts! We love you!!!❤ *** Quick update she has gained 5 pounds*** Chrissy's 2nd surgery is not scheduled yet but they did say near the end of August.
