Our cousin Cary was in a horrific motorcycle accident with her husband John who, sadly, did not survive. Cary was left with tragic and life changing injuries. On Thursday June 29th they were riding north on A1A in Flagler County when they were hit by a pickup truck. Both were wearing helmets. Cary was airlifted to Halifax Hospital where the trauma team did emergency surgery. Cary suffered head trauma, skull and facial fractures, a fractured pelvis and elbow and, tragically lost her left leg. The following day she was transferred to Shands hospital where she has already had 2 additional surgeries for her leg and pelvis. Many more are to come including facial reconstruction and elbow repair. Cary has responded to commands from her Neurosurgeon and we are so grateful for any good news concerning her brain activity. Cary has always been a hard worker, running her own cleaning business that helped support her family including her special needs daughter Catherine. Cary will be unable to work for the foreseeable future and may never be able to go back to the work she does. Cary is still currently under sedation and will have to wake to the news that she has lost her husband and her leg and that her life as she knew it is forever changed. It is more than anyone should have to deal with. All money donated will go directly to helping pay Cary's medical expenses and to help cover her lost wages. Any donation, share, and prayer is greatly appreciated. Terri Beck and Dawn Beck Hansard
