Assalamualaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh. My family and I have created this fundraiser as a form of sadaqah jariyah for our beloved grandmother, with the intention to build a masjid in her name. We will be building this masjid in our grandmother’s motherland - Pakistan. We will personally ensure this masjid is not only built to a good standard but also it will be built in a rural area where communities need it most. We intend to provide a place of worship, safety and solace for children and people of all ages to pray in, to learn in and to allow for communities to thrive. Also, most importantly for each one of us to gain the reward of building a masjid to benefit both our worldly lives and our akhirah. Uthman ibn Affan reported Allah's Messenger (May peace and blessings be upon him) as saying: “Whoever builds a mosque for Allah, Allah will build for him a house like it in Paradise.” Source: Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī 450, Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim 533 Our grandmother was the most loving, kind and strongest woman we knew. She was heart-warming and glowing with radiance of joy, all who met her have their own special stories to tell because that’s the kind of person she was. She had so much love and blessings to give every one of us and always carried a smile that brought us all comfort. She truly was an inspiration for us all, raising her six children all alone after our grandfather's early passing (may they be granted the highest ranks in Jannah). She continued to have sabr (patience) and tawakkul (trust) in Allah (Subhanahu Wata’ala) throughout all the hardships she faced as a single mother. She taught us all how to love, how to respect everyone and she expressed the importance of our deen not only through her words but by her actions. Our grandmother truly lived by the below verse from the Quran; “And do good; indeed, Allah loves the doers of good” [Quran 2:195] I kindly request you all to donate generously to help us reach our goal and we sincerely ask you to make duaa for our beloved grandmother, that Allah (Subhanahu Wata’ala) elevates their status and grants them the highest rank in Jannah and for all their sins to be forgiven. Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger (May peace and blessings be upon him) as saying: "Charity does not decrease wealth, no one forgives another except that Allah increases his honor, and no one humbles himself for the sake of Allah except that Allah raises his status." Source: Sahih Muslim 2588 If in the event we are not able to build the masjid for any particular reason. This money raised will be used for water wells and other small projects for sadaqah jariyah for our grandmother. So please when you donate have the intention to give charity in the way of Allah (Fee Sabilillah). May Allah (Subhanahu Wata’ala) bless each and every one of you who donate. Please remember to share the link with your loved ones. Jazakallah Khair
