Dear Friends, A group of us are raising money for Bruce Granquist. Bruce is an artist, a Minnesota native, a 1981 graduate of St. Olaf College, and a long-time resident of Bali, Indonesia, who was stricken by Parkinson's Disease in the full swing of his career. In his healthy years, Bruce created precise and detailed illustrations for publishers in Asia, the US and Europe and also painted precise maps of Bali and other locations by hand. Bruce's exquisite skill was lost to Parkinson's Disease, leaving him unable to work and earn money for a period of ten years. In December of 2024, Bruce received life-changing surgery which steadied his hands for the first time in years; but a decade of PD had wiped away his life savings plunging him into severe debt. In spite of his best efforts, he has been unable to recover from the high interest rates and crushing payments that accumulated during his illness. The situation is dire. The objective of this funding campaign is to relieve that onerous debt and provide some working funds to help Bruce reestablish his art business so an income stream can flow from that source. Bruce has always been a hard worker and will find the resources to support his household once the crushing debt spiral has been resolved. The goal of this fundraising campaign is $20,000. Help in any amount will be greatly appreciated and donors of $500 or more will receive a copy of Bruce's book 'Mapping Bali.' On a final note: if anyone has connections who could help to find reps, galleries, collectors, etc. in the art world, please contact us below. With gratitude for any assistance you can provide, Mark Hopkins and Natalia Granquist
