Hi, Everyone! My stepdad Brent was recently diagnosed with a Glioblastoma tumor (an aggressive, incurable brain tumor). He’s been suffering with migraines for the past couple of months and it led to what we thought were sinus infections or ongoing allergies. Unfortunately, a month ago he finally went in to go get checked out and received the unthinkable news. I am here asking for any kind of help. My name is Valerie and I’m the daughter of Dina who is married to Brent my (stepdad). I write this because they are two selfless people who would never ask for help. The two of them currently live in California and the rest of their families live in Arizona. Because of the diagnosis and how severe it is, Brent is unable to care for himself. He is at stage 4 and already experiencing short term memory loss and lack of coordination. My mom has now become the soul provider. At this point, we have discussed, as a family, taking turns to fly out and help manage anything and everything so my mom can continue to work. Brent, started radiation on Monday which he will continuously do along with chemo. He was introduced with many clinical trials and which he turned down for wanting to be comfortable, enjoy his life, and be with my mom and their two dogs. They were recently introduced with a new treatment, which they decided to continue with. He will have a radiotherapy mask he has to wear at all times during radiation treatment. It was molded just for him. It is also made to keep his head from moving. The doctors want to see how his body and tumor responds and from there they will decide which actions they need to take. As we continue on this journey of the unknown I just ask for any positive prayers. I hope you know how grateful we are for any donations we may receive.
