This is my sister Barbara. Throughout her life, she’s always been the person who took care of everyone else, the nurturer. Several years ago, Barbara was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. After surgery and a long period of chemotherapy and radiation, she was declared cancer free. She thought her troubles were over. Since then she’s been diagnosed with lupus, Sjogren’s disease, vitiligo, and most concerning Primary Biliary Cholangitis, which is non-alcoholic liver disease - in her case, stage 4. She sees seven specialists for her varying illnesses. She is on more medications than can be listed, some extremely debilitating. A few months ago her husband’s business took a severe blow leaving them with no income for over two months ( through no fault of his own). Business has picked back up and they were in the process of catching up when they were forced to switch their health insurance. Their new insurance doesn’t cover even half what their old one did. The medical bills began mounting up at a fast rate. And as if all of this wasn’t bad enough, their precious kitty, Autumn is ill. She’s been to their vet twice and she's currently at the emergency animal hospital. She's had a multitude of tests done and at this point, there is still no diagnosis. Barbara and her family are sick with worry. The kitty’s vet bill is over $3000 already. It's possible that she'll need surgery which would likely double that amount. Barbara has no idea how she'll pay these bills because of her own medical bills, but she won't ask for help. So I'm asking for her. If you can help, we’ll be forever grateful. She just wants her Autumn healthy and back home. Thank you!
