Our dear Amy is fighting a battle against Triple Negative Breast Cancer. This fight will require all of our triple-positive support! Starting next week, Amy will be undergoing 5+ months of chemo followed by a double mastectomy and reconstruction, followed by more chemo. This will be a long battle requiring her resilience to be front and center. While her focus is on fighting cancer, her family's lives will take a toll as well. There will be a need for rides, meals, coverage of bills since she won't be working full-time, uncovered portions of medical expenses, and more. Amy Nocton is one of my best friends of over 35 years. I love her dearly. We have been through (and continue to go through) all of life's moments...laughter, tears, celebrations, losses, mundane moments and adventures. We have moved from single life and friendship into married life and family friendships. We have been through births and miscarriages, loss of parents and loved ones, surviving the teen years of our children, travel adventures, etc, etc, etc. For all of you who know and love her, you have various fond moments that could be added to this list and it's safe to say that all of us would use many of the same adjectives to describe this incredible woman...brave, strong, smart, beautiful, silly, committed to her causes, resilient, hard-working, courageous, and a fighter for all who need a voice. This is one of those moments where my heart breaks knowing that we are in different parts of the country and I can't be there every minute. While I do plan on traveling up for part of the chemo as well as the surgery, this is my way of trying to help the family from afar with monetary issues I know will arise and that I also know they wouldn't personally ask for help with. If you are able to join me in contributing, please do so. It doesn't matter how much or how little, every dollar counts! If you can share this fundraiser, please do so. Reaching as many people as possible increases the odds of our being able to maximize our help and support for this amazing family. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for helping us arm a warrior with one of the weapons she and her family need to fight this.
