Hey, it's Amanda Dagley, your Hostess with the Mostest. I've been a radio presenter for nearly 25 years. Recently, I've decided to go out on my own and make radio my way. I want to bring back the good old days of radio, the radio I fell in love with as a kid. A time when you could request your favorite song and hear your name on the air. A magical radio-land where the DJs felt like your friends because they were hosting more than just a radio show, they were cultivating a community. With this new online radio station, I intend to bring back that nostalgia, but bring the medium to the present day. The freedom of being an online-only station means the content can be driven by the support of listeners and local businesses, instead of being forced into what terrestrial radio consultants say makes a successful radio station. Often, those suggestions forget the most important element of a radio station: the needs of its listeners, the same listeners who in turn patronize the small businesses that advertise on the station. It all has to work together to make everyone happy, or it doesn't work at all. The format will be a curated, but eclectic mix of music you love, music you forgot you loved, and music you will grow to love. I am very self-conscious about asking for help, much less money. Times are hard for everyone right now and it feels frivolous to be asking for support for my dream to come to fruition. But I know that radio is a friend to many, especially during hard times. Please help me raise the money to get back on the air so I can get back to what I do best: serving my community by connecting people through music and information. If you are intrigued by the concept of a radio station sounding like it did when we were growing up, consider donating to this fundraiser so I can put the rad back in radio. Thank you.
