We rescued Heidi from ACC (Animal Care & Control) on April 15th, 2024. Heidi was found as a stray roaming the streets. From the moment her foster dad brought her to us we were in love! Heidi is deaf and does not bark, so not much of a guard dog! She is the sweetest, chill dog who prefers naps over walks. Yesterday at 1:30 am I heard a thump and found her lying on the floor. She was unable to get up. She was breathing very heavily and was disoriented. For 9 hrs I laid on the floor next to her, comforting her, until I could get her to a vet. Jacob carried her downstairs and we took a Pet Uber. After xrays etc, she was diagnosed with a huge abdominal mass. If it is not done soon, it will rupture. I can't remember the last time I saw my 15 y.o. son break down and sob. We have been a mess since the news. I considered the cheaper option ($1000) to have her euthanized at home and cremated only because financially I just could not afford the surgery. But I am reaching out to you all and praying that you can help her get the surgery done on Thursday. Whatever you can donate will be truly appreciated Thank you for taking the time to hear my story.
