On June 3rd, Kacey, Lance, Josie and Odin welcomed their new bundle of joy to the world. While everyone was gathering for her baby shower she had other plans! At 12:14 that day she made her grand appearance. However soon after doctors realized something wasn't right. She was having difficulty eating and was needing additional oxygen support. Almost a week went by and everyone was stumped as to what could be wrong. Jane was sent via medivac to Georgetown University Hospital Center where experts there had been monitoring her condition since birth. After a successful transfer, she was in the hands of the amazing staff at the Georgetown NICU. After multiple tests and studies, they finally diagnosed her with a very rare case of H-Type Tracheoesophageal Fistula. Doctors have said she is one of the most unique cases they have seen and are working hard to get her home however they do not know how long that will take. They have completed surgery to fix the hole in her esophagus and more tests will be conducted to see if it was successful. She is also having problems with her vocal cords and working on being able to eat on her own. I have created this LFEBridge to help with expenses associated with her stay in the NICU. With no idea how long Jane will be in the NICU, Kacey is running out of time off and Lance must go back to work. We all know on a good day Georgetown is an hour from Southern Maryland. The cost of daily commuting.. gas, meals etc. is adding up. Kacey will soon be out of leave and is paid hourly so if she doesn't work she is not making money. We do not know the total for medical bills yet however I will update the fundraiser as they come in and clear through insurance. Please if you can donate we would greatly appreciate it. Lance and Kacey do not like asking for money but I know even $10 would be so helpful to them. They can't wait to bring sweet Jane Marie home and Josie is so excited for her new baby sister. Thank you all for your help!
