UPDATE: 9/27 Alejandro finished his radiation treatments and the tumor is finally gone!!! Look at this awesome before and after picture. However, he is now beginning his Chemotherapy treatments just in time for the holidays. We hope & pray that the treatments will continue to be a success and that he can be given a clean bill of health soon. Thanks for all your love and support especially during this time of year. UPDATE: 8/20 Alejandro's tumor diagnosis was confirmed as cancerous. Unfortunately, things are going to get more difficult for him and his family. His treatment will require Chemotherapy and Radiation 5x a week at a hospital over 100 miles from his home. He is not able to attend school this year because of the needed treatments. Please continue your prayers and support for Alejandro and his family during this increasingly difficult time❤️ A soccer tournament was held in his honor last weekend and so many wonderful people came to support Alejandro by playing soccer, donating concessions, prizes, and lots of hugs and words of encouragement. Thank you to all that attended! UPDATE: The brain surgery went well and Alejandro is smiling again! He has been doing physical therapy to learn to walk again now that his dizziness isn't so bad. Because of all the anesthesia with long MRI's and surgery he hasn't been able to eat so we were happy to find out he could finally have his 1st meal. Unfortunately, it can take up to a week for them to test the tumor and it is a 50/50 chance it is cancerous but we are praying for good news. Thank you for all of your generous support ❤️ We love Alejandro!!! If you know Alejandro, you know he is always smiling, especially while he's playing soccer. Sadly, earlier this week, he was diagnosed with a brain tumor. Even with the devastating circumstances of being hospitalized, hours of MRI's, and getting ready for brain surgery, Alejandro is still smiling. We are still waiting to hear the results of the surgery and further testing will be required to determine if the tumor is cancerous. This is not something an 11 year-old kid should be worried about and we want to do everything we can to help him to heal and get back to being a kid again. Alejandro and his family are in desperate need of your prayers and support. In addition to momentous medical bills the family is hours from home & not able to work while supporting Alejandro in the children's hospital. In addition to this burden, their car recently broke down, making traveling very difficult, and they need help taking care of their other 2 boys who are playing football and getting ready to start school. Alejandro's father, Raf, donates much of his time coaching the highschool and youth soccer teams and now we as a community, need to rally around their family and donate what we can to help heal Alejandro and lighten the family's burden during this difficult time. Organized by the Dyches Family, close friends to the Contreras-Huitron Family 100% of your donation goes to support Alejandro & his family
