It's never easy to ask for help, but I'm reaching out to you our great community and amazing town of Oakdale on behalf of Caitlyn Hartzell Mahan. She is the Daughter of Ag Teacher, Ed Hartzell from Oakdale High and Vena Hudgins: Vena's Secrets. Caitlyn is also the wife of Blake Mahan. On Thursday, July 27 Caitlyn Hartzel Mahan was airlifted to UCSF. Caitlyn is 27 weeks pregnant and was told they found a tumor in her liver. In the two weeks before this, she found a little bump on her face and after the biopsy was complete it was determined she had melanoma and they were trying to schedule surgery at UC Davis to have it removed. Caitlyn was of course positive, staying busy and still working. They were decorating their nursery and planning a baby shower but Caitlyn just wasn't feeling herself and after several calls to her doctor, she ended up in the emergency room. She underwent surgery Monday night at UCSF they removed a tumor the size of a baseball. Caitlyn has been undergoing test after test on her Melanoma as they are trying to figure out all the unknown she will not be leaving UCSF for a long while they are trying to keep baby Lydia in her mama's tummy as long as they can without risking the life of Caitlyn. I'm asking you to help this family as they all have helped so many in our community for many years. They did not want to ask for help but they have been faced with too much. It's not always easy to ask for help or know what to say when someone is sick but it's truly a necessary part of life. Oakdale Family and Friends Caitlyn needs her husband and parents to be with her during this time. Please help me raise money to ensure they can stay by her side at all times.
