Greyson Timothy Allen was born on 4/14/2024 - Mom and Dad, Michelle and Jonathan, knew they had a hard road ahead of them. They found out late in their pregnancy that Greyson would be born with a congenital heart defect (hypoplastic left heart syndrome) and a cleft lip and pallet. They made the difficult decision to uproot their lives and move 200 miles away, from Yuma, to the closest children’s hospital in Phoenix Arizona. However, things have escalated quickly since then. Michelle was induced early and due to Greyson’s heart instability, she ended up needing an emergency C-section. Greyson was immediately air lifted to Phoenix children’s hospital. Jon and Michelle were informed that Greyson would need to have an unplanned procedure emergently to reduce the pressure in his heart. Due to complications during surgery, Greyson has required multiple medical interventions and procedures to save him. The open-heart surgery that Greyson needs was on hold until he was able to stabilize and grow. Fast forward through two of the hardest months any parent could imagine, the hospital told Jon and Michelle that Greyson was no longer a candidate for that lifesaving heart surgery. Devastated, they reached out across the country for second opinions. They contacted multiple hospitals and cardiac surgeons and finally, Dr. Penny from Texas Children’s hospital gave them hope. He told Michelle and Jon that they would take on Greyson’s case and do everything they can for him. On 6/27/2024 Greyson was med-flighted to Houston, with his mommy. There, the amazing surgical team and neonatal cardiac ICU are giving him a second chance at life. Greyson is receiving phenomenal care and inching closer and closer to the surgical palliations that will give him a chance at growing up. Jon and Michelle have uprooted their lives again and moved to Texas. This is twice now. They have had to find places to live in each new city. Travel costs, moving costs, medical costs all pile up higher and higher. Every day, with every surgery, the costs increase. Though money means nothing to save their beloved little boy, the world feels differently. Please, please, please consider donating. Even a $20.00 donation to this incredible, young family will mean the world to them. If you can’t donate, please share this with everyone you know. Kindness and love will win in the end, but only if we spread and share it. All the funds raised will pay for Greysons medical bill, and help Jon and Michelle cover rent and moving costs. Thank you and God bless you,
