Hello, my name is Virginia and my son Grayson has been on dialysis since he was 5 months old. He's 6 now and finally eligible for a kidney transplant! Grayson getting a kidney is his chance to have a somewhat normal life. It's not the end of our journey but it is a new chapter and something we have been waiting for, for years. After transplant Grayson will no longer need to do dialysis 3 days a week at the hospital, he will also be able to learn how to swim, take a regular bath or shower, eat foods that you wouldn't be allowed to eat if you had kidney disease and eventually go to a regular school. After going through the living donor testing process we found out that Robert (Grayson's dad) is almost a 100% match to donate to Grayson! We are told it's rare to find a 100% match and we are all so excited! However this will mean a loss of wages during the hospitalization and recovery process. Robert will be out of work for 2 months, recovering and helping with Grayson's recovery. This comes at a time when tbh we are just doing our best to get by. It would mean so much if everyone could please keep our family in prayer. This is a major surgery and any time Grayson is in the hospital it really takes a toll on us as parents and as a family. Everyone who knows Grayson, knows how very special he is. He's full of life and such a blessing to so many people! We can't wait to see what the future holds for him and we are so grateful for this chance to finally get him a new kidney! Please share this with as many people as you can and thank you in advance if you are led to donate. God bless❤️
