Hi! My name is ShaQuana and this go fund me is for my son, Gnosis. He is Six years old and has been a long term patient with the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Finally being discharged and listed as 1A priority on the Heart transplant List as of late October, l we are continuing close care at home; myself and assigned registered nurses. Gnosis was diagnosed with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome and has successfully completed three Open-Heart surgeries beginning at just six days old. I remember being nervous, anxious, yet prayerful about my son’s life. I was so stressed out with no idea how things would pan out, but FAITH carried me, and God keeps us. Being a first time mom and going through one of the toughest battles of my life with my baby boy is the greatest life lesson so far. Why? God has a way of grooming, preparing, teaching, and giving; Gnosis is such a happy blessing. This kid shows me there is always a reason to smile. He teaches me to get up no matter what, constantly showing me there is always a way; Smiling through it all we are patiently waiting for a donor for a Heart Transplant. During this process he has overcome high fevers, has had surgical adjustments to keep him stable and again- GOD HAS PROVEN TO BE A WAY MAKER! So here we are. I am learning to be open about what’s going on with my son because I’ve witnessed God perform many miracles with Gnosis. I had to meditate on this and pray because I struggle with asking for help. I am accepting that your “struggles” aren’t just for you and God will USE YOU FOR HIS GLORY! I am asking that you donate during this extensive journey to a NEW HEART, as I am no longer working due to being bedside with my baby, frequent doctors visits, meeting with fellows, cardiac researchers, and the transplant team. I appreciate all the prayers and the help that is given. Your donations will go toward home schooling/education, travel expenses, car expenses, haircuts, etc. I am extremely grateful and I will continue to be the best advocate for my joy giver. I just want to keep him comfortable as possible during this time. He loves trains, cars, and dirt bikes. Gnosis absolutely loves his tablet and his Nintendo Switch. (You guessed it! Car games!) Whatever can keep him strong and entertained is SUPER while waiting for the big day! Thank you 1,000 times over and may God bless you and keep you.
