My name is Gino Silvestre, currently a 3rd year Biochemistry student attending the University of California, Riverside and pursuing a career in medicine.I am excited to announce that this winter, I will be flying down to Panama, to work closely with Global Medical Training, an International Humanitarian Organization that provides free medical-dental services to medically deprived communities in Central American countries.I, with the guidance of MD, BSN, and MPH students from Texas A&M, will have the opportunity to provide medical care to patients in the underservedcommunity of Panama, as I learn basic clinical skills that would benefit me towards my career in the medical field. Not only would this be an amazing opportunity for me to work alongside health professionals, but this would also give me a change to connect with patients, despite the language barriers, and to give them hope for a healthier future. The trip will be from Dec. 26th-Jan. 1st, and during our stay, we will be visiting different villages throughout Panama in hopes to treat a goal patient number of 1,000.Some roles include: • Setting up free clinics• Working with MDs and MD students to obtain patient history and perform physical examination (PE) on patients present at the clinical • Developing differential diagnosis and prescribing medications under the supervision of a physicianI am passionate to continue serving for those who really need the medical attention, and so I humbly ask for your support in this unique opportunity for me to be a part of this mission trip that would drastically improve the quality of life for many in Panama.Thank you for your time and I appreciate any donation towards this amazing journey!
