Sunday, August 17, 2024 On August 5, Gina's PET scan showed the Lymphoma had spread to include spots in both kidneys, her liver, the lower lobes of both her lungs and new spots in her abdomen. Blood tests showed her EBV (Epstein-Barre Virus) numbers had risen from the double digits to 6300. All very discouraging. On August 8, Gina and Rick traveled to MAYO for the first time since January. Her Oncologist there was more encouraging, reminding them that the mono-clonal antibodies can take months to be fully effective. Her Neurologist also tested her legs for nerve regeneration. While the legs below her knees are not making progress, the upper thigh nerves have regenerated by as much as two inches. Gina is feeling stronger now and doing her best to stay positive. The infusions continue every other week with blood work in between. This past week she had labs that showed her EBV number has fallen to 3600 which was tremendous news. That number is not steady and it will be another six to eight weeks before her next PET will show us anything new. Until then, thank you for your support and prayers. Gina and family
