Hello Everyone, Many do not know this, but I have Stage 5 Kidney Disease. Last year I was placed on the Kidney Transplant List. I accepted that my life would head toward peritoneal dialysis at some point. My sister wanted to be a donor, but unfortunately, she discovered that she could not help. When I advised some family members, I never imagined what would happen next! I am amazed and cannot begin to tell you how this young lady stepped in and volunteered to be my living donor. Her determination astonished me because she sacrificed her life to be a part of mine. Karina, my angel donor (as my aunt called her), and her mother, Marilyn, traveled from Puerto Rico for this journey. Now our journey includes Karina being accepted to the Graduate Program, Health Services Administration. When I ask her why she is doing this? She replied I am doing this for you and your son". Those words resonated so profoundly that I will do everything possible to tell the world how special she is to me. That said, we are grateful to receive any amount to cover travel expenses, loss of wages, etc. Thank you all for your love, prayers, and support.
