Hi We are Georgia Gibbison, aged 17 & Gracie-Lea Gibbison, aged 16 and we would be grateful if you could take a couple of minutes to read this. In July this year we are hoping to join an expedition with camps international and our school St James’ Catholic High School to Borneo for 4 weeks to help communities less fortunate than ourselves. In order for us to be able to join this expedition, we need to fundraise and gain sponsorship to support our place on the team. So far we have taken part in activities at local school fairs making and selling crafted items, we have also made and sold seasonal items on our social media platforms, we have held competitions, we both have part time jobs and have asked for help from family members and friends but we still need more help! We are now looking for companies that would love to support such an amazing expedition by sponsoring our places. During our time in Borneo we hope to help with some of the many humanitarian, conservation and wildlife projects that are ongoing within these communities to help them build a better future for themselves and generations to come! Below are a few examples of where we hope be able to help! Educational Projects We hope to help future generations by helping to build new school class rooms and kindergartens so that they have access to education in a safe and productive setting. Community Projects We can help these communities build and have access to things we take for granted such as community centres, libraries and bridges to help them become more sustainable. Healthcare & Sanitation Projects We hope to help improve the health of the community now and for future generations by helping to install and improve local amenities that we in this country take for granted. Food & Water security Projects We will be able to help install new water storage facilities and gravity water feed systems to give all members of the communities the safe and direct access to water supplies they deserve. Environmental Protection Projects We can help to replant saplings in areas that have been affected by deforestation in order to help future generations maintain sustainability. Sustainable Livelihoods Projects Helping to construct market areas that will enable local traders and farmers to bring and sell produce will help these communities become sustainable. Conservation for the local Wildlife & Environment We hope to participate in activities that will help to protect some of natures most endangered species along with conservation projects which help to protect their environments. Native to Borneo are the Orangutan’s, there is a sanctuary here specifically to help injured and orphaned orangutans before they are released back into the wild where we hope to spend some time helping these animals get back to their natural habitat and promote their population in the wild. *** The important part *** What we need from you… We are hoping to gain sponsorship from companies and individuals such as yourselves to support us, our expedition and the communities in Borneo. In exchange for your sponsorship we would happily add your company logo on to our expedition T-shirts which will be worn throughout the expedition, pictures of which will be shared on our individual social media platforms as well as camps international’s social media platforms. You will also be welcomed to share these on yourselves making your customers and colleagues aware of the support you show to such great causes. We will happily report back and present what your sponsorship helped us to achieve on our return. In supporting us on this expedition, you too are supporting these less fortunate communities and the charitable work that is completed by this cause to help them to build a better and more sustainable future for themselves and generations to come. Any support you or your company can provide will be much appreciated, 100% of all monies raised go towards this expedition and can make a real difference. Our target to raise is £7,000 so any sponsorship or support towards this goal would be amazing!
