Hi! I'm Leo the ninja lion! All the furries would know who I am. But for any non-furries, you may not recognize me, but it's me, Kelly. Four days out of the year, I along with hundreds - if not thousands - of others like myself attend Furnal Equinox, a cartoon convention that raises funds for animal charities. This is a time that I along with others am always donating to. This is now foreign what I'm about to ask as I've been on the giving end before, but not the receiving end. This LFEBridge request is to enable my family of three to get through a very rough patch in the next month. To be specific, November 1st is when we have to move. We're packing, and at this moment, we have no place to go and nothing to get us there. In 2013, while residing at my grandmother's - who is my mother's mother - our grandmother's health took a turn. It progressed to the point where she had my mother draw up a personal care agreement for her to be paid after her passing along with being one of three beneficiaries in her will. Our grandmother knew looking after her would be hard work, and it would be a non-paying job. Our grandmother needed a lot of care, but more so in the final three years of her life. She was diagnosed with an open mitral valve, dementia, and totally bedridden. Our mother, along with my older brother and I, gave her the quality end-of-life care. It was the toughest and most isolated time for this family. She died peacefully in her home in 2024. My mother has two brothers that did not so much as even thank her for caring for their mother. They refused to acknowledge a legal document that would have prevented this moment in time. She is now in a court case and has filed a claim against the estate. There is a pending trial for which her brother has a lawyer, but she is self-representing. My grandmother's home sold in July. The closing date gave us 120 days, but neither side could resolve the issue without having to go to trial. We have our day-to-day financial assets, but not the necessary startup means to secure first and last month's rent and all that goes with the moving and the unknown days, weeks, and months ahead for a judge to finalize his/her decision.
