My best man, Jesse South (person on the right), is the best friend that anyone could ask for. He’s the nicest, most humble and generous human being I’ve ever met. He’s always doing things for others, at times to his own detriment but you never hear him complain. He simply enjoys making others happier. You’d think his karma bank was so full he wouldn’t have to deal with any of this but unfortunately life doesn’t work that way. Jesse recently visited his doctor for a regular screening due to his Chrohn’s disease that he’s been managing for a couple years now. The result of his latest appointment was the last thing you want to hear as a 27 year old. He learned that he Has a gene that gives him a 100% chance of developing liver cancer. The doctors have recommended that he needs to get a new liver. However, before he can do that he needs to also undergo chemo treatment to prevent bad cells from spilling into his body during the treatment. He will be undergoing numerous tests over the next couple weeks to get onto the donor list and once we find a donor he could get a call any day to undergo surgery. The entire recovery process is upwards of a year and he will be confined to his apartment for the first 4 months post op as his body adjusts to his new liver. His immune system will also be very weak until he completes this process. He will be out of work during his recovery process and life expenses and medical bills are going to become overwhelming. The last thing he needs is to worry about finances while he needs to focus on recovery. Jesse is the last person to ask for help. Whether that’s his stubbornness or pride, he doesn’t like to bog down other people with his problems, but this is a different kind of problem that he needs some love, help and prayers from others. Anything you can donate to this cause will go such a long way to getting my best friend back to 100%. Thank you.
