Hi, my name is Cindy. I am fundraising to help my significant other George Salazar. George is a retired Stamford CT Police officer. He served Stamford for 32 Years and is a proud father of 2 wonderful children. He is in need of your help. His health has been declining the past few years. He was diagnosed with liver and kidney disease and is now in need of a simultaneous liver-kidney transplant (SLK). After a lengthy stay at Yale New Haven Hospital last year, George began dialysis three times per week and was lucky enough to be listed on (UNOS) The United Network of Organ Sharing as an eligible candidate for a liver and kidney transplant. He faced many obstacles along the way. But thankfully was able to overcome them all. Unfortunately, an entire year has passed with no luck of transplant yet. The demand for organs is much higher than the supply here in the Northeast. In order for George to have better odds of receiving this life-saving transplant, he will need to branch out to other areas of the United States where the availability can be greater. This, of course, will take money for travel, lodging, airfare, food, living expenses, out-of-pocket medical expenses etc. for up to three months during and after the transplant. I, being his significant other, would need to travel, and be with him throughout this journey to help in his care, make decisions, and continue to be his moral support. I am asking that we all rally around George and support him financially emotionally spiritually, and give him Hope and a chance on a new lease on life. Any help you can give will be greatly appreciated, keeping his spirits up at this time in his life is very important, so any encouraging words and well wishes will be welcome. Thank you. I will keep you updated on his progress.
