Dear Friends and Associates. Alex Magno and I set up this Go Fund Me page to help our lifelong friend: Gary Davis, who has fallen on difficult financial times due to very serious health issues. We have been friends going back as far as 6th grade(more years than I care to count) although the miles have separated us, he's been there to support our efforts through thick and thin. We're here to return that love and friendship by reaching out to family, friends, associates, in-laws and outlaws asking for your help to share our plea to your friends and to donate, in any amount you can find in your heart to give, to help our dear friend survive his battle. We've shared much throughout the years, and the lines of communication have always been open. Gary and I struggled through puberty in the 60's, acted together in projects and in 1971, we graduated from JR Buchtel High School in Akron, OH. We've gone on to perform on stage, became involved in our communities, got married and raised families over the years in our own sections of the country. Gary has delighted hundreds of children as the best Santa any Christmas could ever want. Rehearsal photo 1971 Music Man production JR Buchtel HS, Gary played Harold Hill, Jocelyn Yarbrough was Marion the Librarian. I asked Gary to give a brief biography to let people know about who he is and how he's given back to those around him. "A little about me. I started my career as a cook and kitchen manager. I won the Twin Cities Best Pizza Award 4 times. The rest of my career was as a QA Analyst/Manager until last year. I also was on the Holy Spirit Grade School Board in Saint Paul, MN for 3 years. While there, I finished my BA with a thesis of a Strategic Plan for the school. I served as a Cub Scout Den Leader and Troop Leader for Troop 252. My wife and I led the Fundraiser/Silent Auction for 2 years as well. I have served on the board of Applause Community Theatre since 2010 as well." Gary can best describe his current health issues. "Last year I was diagnosed with HPV neck cancer. Since then, I have undergone 45 radiation treatments, 35 for the throat cancer and 10 more for a small node found in each of my lungs, as well as 6 chemotherapy sessions I get PET scans every 3 months and immunotherapy every 3 weeks for the foreseeable future. In addition, the swelling in my neck from the cancer made me need a tracheostomy. The trach tube has caused a large infection in my throat which has caused a large area of infection, a common occurrence, which has also spread to my right clavicle. I am now looking at a major surgery to address removal of the infected bone and debreavement of infected tissue in my clavicle, which will require a long hospital stay. All of this has resulted in unexpected expenses, and I have been unable to work since December." Now I'm asking you to take a moment to look deep into your heart and then reach into your wallet and give a little to help our dear friend, a good man who's fallen on hard times. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your love, consideration and help. Jack E Curenton and Alexander T. Magno
