Hi, my name is Katlyn. I work for Target and I had the pleasure of meeting Vero. I am making this LFEBridge for her beautiful three year old son Gabriel. Unfortunately, little Gabriel was diagnosed with Osteopetrosis this past April. It is a rare genetic disorder that causes bones to grow abnormally and become overly dense. The bones become brittle and can fracture easily when they become excessively dense. This disorder can lead to deafness, blindness, and thrombocytopenia; if left untreated, it can lead to death. Gabriel has bone marrow failure. His liver, spleen, and kidneys have become enlarged from the body overworking to make enough platelets to sustain his RBC/WBC counts. He will under go a hematopoietic stem cell transplantation also know as a bone marrow transplant in the beginning of August. He will be hospitalized for 3 months depending how he recovers from the transplant. This go fund me is to cover any expenses including medical..housing and bills since Vero will not be able to work for a certain period of time. If you can’t donate, it’s okay!
