Created by friends at Acuantia: Gabby Cano needs our help. She was looking to move out of her apartment and into a home so she could be in a safer environment. She was an unfortunate victim of a scammer. She found a nice house to rent in South Fort Worth on Facebook Marketplace. She contacted the realtor on the post and went to view the home. She liked it and decided to move forward in the rental process. She provided information for a background check to be processed on her, and when that passed, she received the lease agreement to look over and sign. The realtor had signs up in yards around the South Fort Worth area and they seemed legit. The realtor communicated with Gabby via text. Gabby was excited to begin this next chapter in her life in Fort Worth. She was told how much the deposit and such would be, got a money order for it and signed the lease. She booked movers to help move her out of her apartment and into her new home. She was very happy and couldn't wait to unpack and get everything set up. Little did she know that the rug was about to be pulled out from under her. She was in her house, working on unpacking when the real owners and police came in. Gabby's heart sank when she found out she was the victim of a scammer. With her lease over at the apartments, and nowhere else to go, she was devastated. Luckily Gabby has family in Weatherford who can help her out for a time but now Gabby needs us. Since she paid the scammer over $3000 in money orders, there isn't much that can be done to recoup the funds. This is where we are asking for your help. Anything you can give would be fantastic to help us help Gabby get back on her feet and find a new place to live. We also want to share some information from Gabby about the scammer. The person is a female, using the name of Leann Tribble, [phone redacted] and [phone redacted], 805 E State HWY 114, #280 Southlake TX 76092. She said that her family owns the realty company and she was helping out. Police have been involved in this situation. We want everyone to be aware of this scammer. Please feel free to pass this along to your friends and family, on social media if you like, especially if they are looking for a home to rent or purchase.
