Hello, everyone, thank you for reading. My name is Jason Kendrick, and I'm setting up this account for my wife Monica. Monica and I are in our mid 30s, have two wonderful daughters (12 and 2), a small but comfortable home, and a pretty normal life. Before 7 weeks ago or so, Monica was working full time and being a very busy mom and wife. She started having some severe headaches, and a few random bouts of chest pains that the doctors attributed to anxiety attacks. As her condition continued, she began to have dizziness and difficulty walking. She was admitted to the hospital on September 17th with an unknown ailment. After several weeks and multiple MRIs, lumbar punctures, heart tests and anything else the doctors could think of, we ruled out conditions ranging from MS to Meningitis to West Nile virus and everything in between. The doctors discovered that Monica had suffered multiple strokes, though we still don't know any cause. These strokes had a devastating effect on Monica. She was hardly able to move, did not understand where she was most of the time, and could speak but not get her thoughts in order. She continued to suffer from strokes during her early stay in the hospital, which she has no memory of.Monica has spent the last six weeks bouncing back and forth between a regular hospital and a rehabilitation hospital. She is finally stable and on the road to recovery, but has a lot of work ahead. She is in a wheelchair at the current time. She has diffuculty hearing and keeping focused. She has no memory of much of her stay although thankfully her long term memories seem intact. She is in generally good spirits but gets frustrated and agitated easily.Prior to all of this happening, we were in tight financial straits, living check to check. As Monica was the majority of our household income, and as I am only receiving part time pay right now, we have lost the vast majority of our income. Household bills and debts continue to mount, and the medical expenses haven't even began to appear yet. We don't know what kind of timeframe Monica is looking at for recovery, if she'll need special equipment or anything, or if she'll be able to return to work, a job she has held for over 15 years.Monica is a strong woman and a fighter, and she is working so hard to get back to her family and her life. Strokes are not usually something you expect to be dealing with in your 30s, especially in otherwise great health. The last thing I want is for her to be worried about bills and groceries while trying to recover. After exhausting all other options available, we have decided to ask for help. We have had wonderful help from family and friends with meals and child care, but those alone can't help us keep our home and take care of our girls.Any proceeds raised by this account will be put towards covering household bills, medical expenses, and the necessities of life. Although setting up this account required me to enter a goal (which I put at $1000) ANY amount will be helpful to us!Thank you so much for reading! We appreciate every bit of help we recieve, no matter how small. If you are not able to contribute to our account, please help us in spirit by keeping Monica and our girls in your prayers!-Jason
