Hi all, I am opening this go fund me for my Dad, Danny Mendoza. He experienced a stroke in May and is on the long haul towards recovery. Any money donated towards this fund will go towards making adjustments to the home for when he is able to leave rehab and life in general. The ischemic stroke he suffered had him intubated for almost three weeks. During that time me, my sister, our entire family saw him the most vulnerable state we have ever seen. As of this date (8-4-2024) he is at a rehab facility until he regains his core strength back as well as mobility in his leg. His left side was "flaccid" as a consequence of the stroke but every week, slowly but surely, we see motor skills and strength regained. When this stroke happened he was doing what he loves, BBQing in the back yard about to take some ribs over to his cousin's, some extended family was in town visiting. My dad is the most giving and loving person I know. Any one that knows him knows his giving heart, love for his grandkids, friends, family and baseball. I couldn't believe that when this did happen, anyone I told said, "man, I just saw him" he's the most social butterfly I know as well. I'm opening this LFEBridge up to hopefully make my pop's life at home a little easier once he's out of rehab. I have full faith that I will see him walk again and thank you to all who have prayed for him (and my family). I love you all. We are so thankful for your prayers, love and visits. Lastly, I'm opening this up on the evening before I (and my sister) participate in the Hell of a Half Marathon. This run is for my Dad. I can't wait to sit in the backyard with him and throw the Frisbee to his handsome pup Craycee.
